Eat right - the Ayurveda way

Categories: Healthy eating

How do you lose over 4 stone and still eat food that tastes great and makes you feel good? "Eat Right for you Body Type" is the super-healthy diet inspired by Ayurveda, that helped BBC's face of Indian Food Anjum Anand do just this.

Whether you want to lose weight or find a diet that works with your body type to bring you optimum health and well-being, Eat Right For Your Body Type is the one.

In this ground-breaking new diet book, Anjum shows how to work out your body type, the foods you should eat (or avoid) and how to combine them into delicious recipes for every meal. Uniquely this cookbook includes recipes from the East and West making it a truly accessible everyday diet.

The book comes complete with a questionnaire to help us determine our body type and once we've established which type we are, we can then find the right diet to help correct any imbalances and get back into shape as well as address any digestive disorders, insomnia and other problems.

The three body types are called doshas and you will find that you fit into one category, which will make you either a Vata, Pitta or Kapha - each recipe is clearly marked so that you know how suitable it is for you.

For anyone purely interested in healthy eating the recipes are all low-fat, healthy and delicious and can be enjoyed without following the principles of Ayurveda.

Sample some of Anjum Anand's delicious recipes:
- Spicy sweetcorn soup
- Vegetable and edamame in chilli, ginger, coconut broth
- Persian chicken with saffron rice pilaf
