What's your diet type?

Categories: Diet & weight loss, Healthy eating, Diet du jour

If you've ever said 'diets don't work for me', you could be closer to the truth than you realise. Admittedly, if you're snacking on cake during the afternoon, that could have something to do with it, but it could also be that you've chosen the wrong plan for your personality.

But three health experts - This Morning resident GP Dr Chris Steele, nutritionist and psychotherapist Mary Strugar and nutritionist Dr Chris Fenn - have developed nine separate 'Eater types' as well as a questionnaire to establish which you are and advice on the perfect diet for each personality.
'One size doesn't fit all,' says Mary Strugar. 'Personal habits play a key role, which is why not all weight loss products and plans work for everyone. We've been led to believe that the magic formula for losing weight is out there somewhere, which is why fad diets have such a strong appeal.'

The types include the most common, the Auto Eater, who thinks they eat healthily but actually scoffs more than they realise by not paying attention to their food, as well as the second place Weekend Treater, who sticks religiously to a diet from Monday to Friday then undoes their good work by relaxing on Saturdays and Sunday.

And there's also the Hungry Dieter, who is so strict, they can't help giving in to temptation, as well as the bread and pasta-loving Carb Craver, ready meal fan Convenience Consumer and Disorganised Eater, who's so busy they're either skipping meals or grabbing quick fixes.
